There are many websites out there with How To Learn Android information & that will help you faster than looking here, which is not an Android user help forum. Your only other option is to use the SD card as Portable Storage as you likely presently are & getting a device with more internal storage.Īlso, in the future, search the web or YouTube first for any questions about your device or it's usage, as many questions such as this one, are primarily about ANDROID OS & How to Use Android, than being about the specific Lenovo device. DO NOT PERFORM BACKUPS BY REMOVING THE SD CARD to copy the info to another memory device, but do it via back up apps or file managers using WiFi or connected to your PC via USB cable, if your SD card is set up as Adoptable Storage. Not doing so could be regrettable as you will read from other discussions by people who have removed the Adoptable Storage SD card & have lost their data access. Also, probably set up your Google Account for performing regular backups & do manual backups of Data & Media & all files anyway. If you do format your SD card as Adoptable Storage, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, remove the SD card afterwards or you will lose your info on the SD card & the card is encrypted & will not be readable by ANY other device anyway, zero, so NEVER remove the SD card as Adoptable Storage. LOTS of info here in past discusssions for you to read.
Adoptable Storage "Adopts" the SD card to expand internal storage by including the SD card as if it were part of the internal storage. If you want to expand storage for apps, to do it properly, find the links in these forums on Android Adoptable Storage or use those keywords to do a Google & or YouTube search for other articles. You can do searches in this forum for previous threads & links on SD card usage & why saving apps to internal storage doesn't really help anyway if it were still possible & also search the web for why Android / Google has gone that route. Apps restricted to installation on internal storage only is modern, normal, Android OS behavior & is by design by ANDROID for security purposes. Saving to internal storage hasn't been available by Android for several + OS versions. Yes everyone using non rooted / standard Android OS gets that function.
